Star Party Procedure

Meet on the day of the Star Party in the elevator lobby of RLM.  Parking is available next to the microbiology building.  Contact the ASA to find out the meeting time.

If you can not meet at RLM, feel free to drive to the facility on your own.  You will need to call us to open the gate once you get there.  A pay phone is available at the Texaco station marked on the map.  The phone number is: (512) 263-2189.

Please be aware that no smoking is allowed anywhere at Bee Caves Observatory.

Please wear appropriate clothing.  In the early fall the site tends to host large numbers of mosquitoes, and it is typically several degrees cooler at Bee Caves than on campus.  During winter, temperature frequantly drop below freezing.

Bee Caves Observatory Star Parties are open to members of the UT community and their families.  Children under the age of 15 are only allowed with special permission.

All visitors to Bee Caves Observatory will be asked to sign a standard "Waiver of Indemnity Agreement" and will be asked to follow the "Bee Caves Safety Policy."
